3 Myths about Phone Cards

Although many people are currently using phone cards to save money on their domestic and international calls, there are still various rumors about calling cards, some of which are either incomplete or simply not true. This article aims to present you with the most popular x phone card myths – and explain why they are not true. Let’s begin:

Myth no. 1 – You need to change your phone (mobile or landline) provider in order to use phone cards.

FALSE
Phone cards are simply a workaround method of paying less for your calls. They can be used from any phone, be it a landline, mobile or even payphone, without you needing to change your provider. You simply get the card and your PIN, and start calling from any phone – dialing an Access Number and your PIN in front of the number you need to call.

Myth no. 2 – Using phone cards is so complicated; you always need to dial that PIN number.

FALSE
Mane phone cards now have the pinless dial feature – allowing you to register (usually) up to 5 numbers, from which you can then call without dialing the PIN number! As phone cards are now becoming more and more popular for international calls, they also tend to become more advantageous and easy to use.

Myth no. 3 – You cannot use your uk phone card to call from a cell phone.

FALSE
As explained above, under Myth no. 1, you can use your phone card or calling card to make calls from ANY phone! This includes cell phones. As long as you have a working mobile phone, you will be able to place calls – domestic or international – using your phone card: dial the access number, and PIN (unless the mobile number you’re calling from is registered for pinless dialing with your card) – and start enjoying your low-cost phone calls!
